Sleeper of the Week #2: Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman

Sweden has been churning out some of the highest caliber DJs in the world, Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman are no exception. This duo has been making some pretty amazing remixes these days many of which are from artists I have never heard of. Their lastest being Coldplay's 'The Scientist', which of course is a great track. If you are throwing a party, be sure to throw one of these guys' remixes on, sure it will be a hit. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled and your ears open for new tracks from these guys, and they are for sure up and coming.

American DJ Spotlight: Kaskade

Illinois native Ryan Raddon or better known as 'Kaskade' has really been on a steep upward climb of the DJ Mags Top 100 and even in DJ Times 2011 he was voted 'America's Best DJ'. This man can put on a show, which I personally witnessed last July at the famous club 'Opium' in Barcelona. With this years release of his 'Fire & Ice' album Kaskade showed his array of DJ/Producing skills from making trance mixes which show his roots along with some real bangers such as 'Turn it Down' displaying his progression into the Electro/Progressive House craze.  This guy spent the beginning of his career at OM Records in San Francisco (which is where I am from), and now is producing out of Santa Monica, CA on Ultra Records. Kaskade is also set to play New Years Eve in Las Vegas, which I could bank on being a pretty amazing way to bring in the new year. You can count on Kaskade to keep producing hot tracks for years to come which is why he is featured in the inaugural American DJ Spotlight. Below I have included some of my personal favorites for your listening pleasure.

Kaskade & Adam K (feat. SunSun)- Raining

Kaskade & Seamus Haji Feat. Haley- So Far Away

Kaskade Feat. Mindy Gledhill- Eyes

Knife Party's First US Appearence

With the release of the upcoming Ultra Music Festival Lineup just the other day, which is unreal any DJ who is anybody is on the lineup, which is sure to make for yet another award winning musical experience. What was the most surprising group to be on the lineup would most definitely be Knife Party, which consists of Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen from Pendulum. Knife Party has yet to perform in the United States (The Last Frontier of Electronic Music), marking their March 25th Ultra appearance as their US premier. The recent release of their EP 100% No Modern Talking, has really a very distinct sound with lots of laser bass to it. 'Internet Friends' is one of my favorite tracks of the EP, this track just makes you amped hell maybe you even start smashing bottles. It nice to listen to Dubstep that doesn't sound like a Skrillex impostor. Below included some links to some of my favorite KP remixes and originals, and the EP is available for FREE at this address http://knifeparty.com/news/ep-out-now.

Klavay's Weekly Mix #3

http://www.mediafire.com/?q34i40ldy44hwve

My boy, Klavay (formely Clave) has been upping his DJ game opening for acts such as John Dahlback(most recently) and Bad Boy Bill.  This is one of his weekly mixes, and let me tell ya they may appear long but they are worth listening to. This week features tracks from Laidback Luke, Chuckie,  and one my favorite under the radar duos of Dimitiri Vangelis & Wyman with their killer remix of Colplay's 'The Scientist'. Klavay puts in work when it comes to choosing the weekly mixes, it is evident in the smooth and seamless transitions. Click the link provided to download, turn it up to 11, and Rage.

Sleeper of the Week: Basto!

This Belgian is not one of the DJ's that everyone knows such as Avicii or Tiesto. His biggest track 'Again and Again' is featured in the video above, which by the way is from his set at Tomorrowland 2011. Basto is a very talented DJ and will for sure break into the DJ Mags Top 100 in the near future, so be on the lookout.  His recent remix of of Adrian Lux's 'Alive' has a smooth and catchy melody sure to get the party going, oh and the vocals aren't too shabby either. Be sure to check out Gregory's Theme as well.

Swedish House Mafia at Madison Square Garden

Being the first DJ's in the world to play live at the historic Madison Square Garden, one was to expect it to be epic. Playing an amazing set ranging from Save the World, to tracks from Alesso,  classics such as 'I Love You So' by Cassius. The surprise song of the night, however, would most definitely be Colours (Simon D remake)- Ivan Gough & Feenixpawl. You cannot go wrong with SHM in the booth and with an insane light set up.   I have included a link to download the track for your listening pleasure.
