Sleeper of the Week: Feenixpawl
Australia is becoming a major hub for the electronic scene, churning out groups like Pendulum, Tommy Trash, Knife Party(side project of members of Pendulum), Feenixpawl, and more. Feenixpawl is a two man crew consisting of Aden Forte and Josh Soon. They originally came to my attention when during the Swedish House Mafia at Madison Square Garden played their track, 'Colours' (which was featured in my inaugural post). That is the beautiful thing about the DJ/Producer community in the electronic generes, guys will of course play their originals, but more often then not they feature tracks from under the radar guys which in turn will boost the lesser knowns popularity. So back the Feenixpawl, this duo has some really cool electro/house tracks which I have provided for your listening pleasure.

American DJ Spotlight: Wolfgang Gartner
This guy may look like a father of two living happily in the suburbs with his wife and working a desk job. He actually is a very talented DJ with his debut album 'Weekend in America' being released last September, which by the way is a masterpiece. He displays his talents by making some heavy hitting electro house tracks and even infusing hip hop and electro to make a unique sound. One such track is 'Circus Freaks' on which Wolfgang collaborates with Jim Jones and Cam'ron, and its got a hard synth line and loaded with bass. He is also not afraid to go into uncharted territory such as in 'Shrunken Heads' (my favorite track) he distorts his sound until the listener cannot really put their finger on it. Also, make sure if he is coming to your town you get a ticket I saw him last Halloween; man put on one hell of a show which included an encore of his collaboration with Deadmau5 'Animal Rights'. This guy really is putting America on the map of electronic music, with 8 tracks hitting the #1 spot on Beatport's Top 10. That being said Wolfgang Gartner is the real deal, and sure to keep the hits coming.

Holiday Hangovers
Coming out of the holiday season, last night being the grand daddy of them all, I am sure many of you have felt better than you do today after a long night of champagne and partying. 2011 was a great year for electronic music with major steps forward in conquering the Last Frontier the US of A, and I'm sure that 2012 will be even bigger year with many new artists put on the global map. I included a few songs here to hopefully make the hangover a little less painful for you.
